Titling/Title Transfer

Out of State Title - If the title is being held by a lienholder (bank, credit union, etc.) you will need to contact the lienholder before you can title the vehicle.

A tracing of the vehicle ID or serial number will be needed. If you are unable to get a legible tracing, these are acceptable forms:

A clear photo of the number
Verification by a Certified Vehicle PA Vehicle Safety Inspection Mechanic
A Notary at a PA Vehicle Dealership will be needed

Proof of insurance, such as a valid insurance ID card, Binder, or Declaration Page will be needed

The current Odometer reading

If the vehicle was purchased within the last 6 months, a sales tax receipt is needed

Title Transfer - You must bring ID for both parties (Purchaser and Seller), and the Title

Titling and Registering - You must bring in ID, the Title, and proof of insurance

Transfer of Plate - You may transfer a plate that you own. Transferring a plate by your parent of child is also allowed. Please bring in the old registration card
